John was born in Indiana and grew up in Miami, Florida. John has a varied career. He is a certified Clown, having attended clown college; a recognized cake decorator through Wilton’s Classes; a trainer of exotic animals; and worked on and off the set with many people from Hollywood…just to name a few.

John has a bachelor’s degree from Florida Christian College and has been in ministry since 1996. He is the co-founder of Phatrok’s Bean Krib, a mobile coffee house that traveled throughout the state of Florida serving coffee and drama and comedy to the youth in the state. He has traveled throughout most of the U.S.; has traveled and served others in Mexico twice; London twice; Haiti three times; Villefranche {Monte Carlo, Cannes, Nice} France, Civitavecchia {Rome} Italy, Piraeus {Athens} Greece, Malta, Palermo, and Zimbabwe.

John is the Senior Minister at Huntsville Christian Church in Huntsville AL, Chaplain for the Harvest Volunteer fire department, and for radio station WAY-FM in Huntsville.

He has been the President of Dylan’s Dogs for Diabetes since its inception in 2014. He believes that the solution to the world’s problems is contained within ordinary people, but the legal hassles and hurdles often stop them from even taking the first step to make their dream real. That’s why he and his wife, Mitzi, have encouraged Dylan every step of the way on this journey to help improve the quality of life for those with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).

He is inspired by Dylan’s compassion for other and by his focus to never let T1D get in the way of anything he sets out to do.
